Food & History: Exploring the Culinary Heritage of Lexington

In this 250th-anniversary year of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which opened the American Revolutionary War, we’re hosting many guests from near and far coming to the Birthplace of American Liberty to mark that occasion and delve into that history.

Indeed, we host such guests every year at the Inn at Hastings Park, given our prime location at the doorstep of those battlefields and many other fascinating Colonial- and Revolutionary-era landmarks (including those encompassed by Minute Man National Historical Park).

Our boutique-luxe Inn—the only Relais & Châteaux property in the Boston area—is known for more than our history-steeped location here in Lexington, Massachusetts: We’re also a celebrated destination for gastronomy, distinguished not only by exceptional on-site farm-to-table dining but also an array of culinary classes, special themed meals, and other food- and drink-oriented experiences.

Why not combine historical sightseeing with gourmet dining—including explorations of regional culinary heritage—with an Inn at Hastings Park getaway?

Culinary Experiences & Revolutionary War Explorations at the Inn at Hastings Park

Thanks to our renowned Town Meeting Bistro, its associated outdoor-dining areas, and the refined culinary craft of a kitchen team led by Executive Chef Alissa Tsukakoshi, you can expect New England dining of exquisite quality whenever you join us at the Inn at Hastings Park.

And we also offer a steady stream of gastronomic classes and experiences, among them our themed and interactive Supper Club Series (upcoming dinners of which include New England Spring Classics on April 16th and Mom & Me on May 14th) and the unforgettable Immersive Cooking Weekends led by Inn at Hastings Park proprietor (and Le Cordon Bleu graduate) Trisha Pérez Kennealy. Along with culinary classes and multi-course tasting dinners, those Cooking Weekends feature a Farm & History Tour.

Speaking of history, we’ve got several special meals oriented around the Lex250 celebration. On Sunday, April 13th, we’re partnering with Chaîne des Rôtisseurs—an International Association of Gastronomy of which Trisha Pérez Kennealy as well as our Maître de Table Hôtelier Shiobanne Karampekios are members—for a Revolutionary-themed dinner. This Le Chapître de la Naissance de la Révolution will feature Executive Chef Alissa’s spins on traditional New England fare.

On Saturday, April 19th, meanwhile—the date of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and when the Town of Lexington will be celebrating the official holiday of Patriot’s Day (which is technically the following Monday)—we’re serving a Patriot Brunch at Town Meeting Bistro, scheduled between a reenactment of the Battle of Lexington and Lexington’s can’t-miss Patriot’s Day Parade.

Delve Into History & Gastronomy on a Luxury Getaway at the Inn at Hastings Park

Besides one or more of our culinary happenings—and, of course, on-site dining at Town Meeting Bistro—consider joining our Footsteps of the Revolution historical walking tour of Lexington and Concord this spring: a perfect way to mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution’s dramatic beginning.

Book your stay at the Inn at Hastings Park and explore the staggering American history—and the world-class dining—a guestroom or suite here gives you access to!
