Farmers Markets & U Pick Near Lexington, MA

Here in Lexington, Massachusetts, we’re lucky to have access not only to the world-class urban arts and culture of the Greater Boston area, but also a precious farm-to-ocean New England foodshed.

At The Inn at Hastings Park, where culinary experiences and epicurean pampering are very much part of our one-of-a-kind boutique hospitality, you’ll find yourself well positioned to explore that foodshed: from our own restaurant and Culinary Garden to a wonderful diversity of nearby farmers’ markets, farmstands, and U-pick fields and orchards.

The Lexington Farmers’ Market

Running not one, not two, but three markets throughout the year, the Lexington Farmers’ Market is one of our local treasures here in the Birthplace of American Liberty. Its Summer Market runs 2 to 6:30 PM every Tuesday from late May through late October at the Worthen Road Practice Field, just a hop, skip, and a jump from The Inn at Hastings Park.

You’ll find a fabulous mix of vendors at the Lexington Summer Market, including Busa Farm, Liberty Fish/Boston Sword & Tuna, Farmer Dave’s, River Rock Farm, Boston Smoked Fish Co., Black-Eyed Susan Sheep Dairy, Niemi’s Apiary, and Triple Allium Flower Farm.

And it’s not just the direct bounty of regional farms and fishing grounds: You’ll have plenty of deliciousness to tuck into courtesy of Butternut Bakehouse, Mind Body Snack, Hi-Rise Bread Company, Mei Mei, Ovenbird Cafe, Del’s Coffee Roasters, and more. (Don’t miss the Argentine empanadas served up by Del Sur!)

The Waltham Farmers’ Market

Another fine local farmers’ market within easy reach of our Inn is the Waltham Farmers’ Market, held on Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM at 65 Lexington Street, Waltham, MA, June through October.

Here, too, you’ll be delighted by the variety on tap amid the market stalls: from farm-fresh produce from Dick’s Market Garden, Joyberry Farms, Spring Brook Farm, and others to Luluna Kombucha, Tipping Cow Homemade Ice Cream, 1634 Meadery, Fournos Authentic Greek Pastries, SamosaMan, and Tick Tock Chocolates.

Boston Farmers’ Markets

If you’re day-tripping into The City on a Hill during your Inn at Hastings Park stay—we are, after all, only 15 minutes from Downtown Boston—you’ve got a whole slew of farmers’ markets to explore, from the Boston Public Market and Haymarket to the Copley Square and Chinatown markets. Explore the full lineup and a map of locations right here.

Local U-Pick Farms & Farmstands

You’re almost duty-bound to sample the wonderful homegrown goodness of the Lexington area’s farms and orchards—strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and more—on a summer getaway at The Inn at Hastings Park.

Check out the nearby, well-stocked farmstand at Wilson Farm (10 Pleasant St., Lexington, MA), or dive into the U-pick opportunities at places such as Smolak Farms (315 S. Bradford St., North Andover, MA)Hanson’s Farm (20 Nixon Rd, Framingham, MA), or Russell Orchards (43 Argilla Rd, Ipswich, MA).
