Best Hotel for Pick Your Own Strawberries near Lexington, MA

It’s early summer in Greater Boston, and among many other enticements that means it’s strawberry season! We’re coming to the tail-end, in fact, of the season for these delicious, juicy, ruby-red berries, which means it’s high time to get yourself to the Inn at Hastings Park and do some pick-your-own day-tripping.

Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Farms Within Easy Reach of a Guestroom at the Inn at Hastings Park

Our Lexington, MA location sets you up perfectly for exploring the impressively rich lineup of pick-your-own farms peppering the countryside around the Boston area. Besides harvesting the June bounty (and enjoying other farm-fresh products), touring these fields, garden beds, and farmstands from a home base here at the Inn at Hastings Park treats you to some fine on-the-road scenery.

Among your options are Hanson’s Farm (20 Nixon Rd, Framingham, MA), which follows up the pick-your-own strawberry window with July blueberries and August blackberries while also offering gorgeous farm-grown flowers throughout the summer.

Another fine choice is Smolak Farms (315 S. Bradford St, North Andover, MA), where besides picking strawberries you can avail yourself of some irresistible products from the Smolak Farm Bakery and the delightful ice-cream stand.

In Ipswich, meanwhile, you’ve got Marini Farm (259 Linebrook Rd, Ipswich, MA), which complements its U-pick beds with a well-stocked farmstand, and Russell Orchards (143 Argilla Rd, Ipswich, MA), dating back to 1920 and offering a full spring-to-fall roster of pick-your-own goodness.

These are just a few of the farms you might consider touring this time of year for strawberries—and, remember, all of these continue to offer U-pick opportunities as the summer “ripens,” so to speak.

We do recommend checking the farms’ websites and/or getting in touch directly to confirm the availability of strawberries. This is farming, after all, and the fickleness of weather and other contingencies can shorten, extend, or even scratch the season in any given year.
