Beyond the delights of our everyday service at Town Meeting Bistro, our on-site restaurant, and its associated seasonal dining areas, we here at the Inn at Hastings Park present a wide range of special culinary experiences throughout the year, from cooking classes to holiday meals.
And certainly among the reliable highlights of the epicurean calendar at our historic boutique Lexington, Massachusetts hotel is our Farm to Vine Dinner Series, which marries exquisite, seasonally informed dishes with the perfect wines from some of the world’s outstanding viticultural areas and vineyards.
This October, we invite you to join us for an autumnal Farm to Vine feast featuring Chateau Montelena, among the most celebrated winemaking operations in the Golden State.
Our October Farm to Vine Dinner Featuring Chateau Montelena
Our Chateau Montelena Farm to Vine Dinner will take place on Tuesday, October 14th at 6 PM at Town Meeting Bistro, placing equal attention upon that venerable Napa Valley vineyard’s output and the richness of our regional fall bounty.
Claiming roots back to the 1880s, Chateau Montelena in California’s Napa Valley was revitalized in 1972 via its purchase by the Barrett Family, who still run the business. Four years later, Chateau Montelena took top honors in the white-wine category during the high-profile wine competition called the “Judgment of Paris,” a victory which inspired a 2008 feature film.
On the National Register of Historic Places, Chateau Montelena re-releases decade-prior vintages of its Estate Cabernet and half-decade-prior Chardonnay vintages alongside the current ones as a demonstration of their wine’s ageability. Such a comparison will be part of our October Farm to Vine Dinner, in fact—quite the treat!
Combine some exceptional wines from Chateau Montelena with seasonal goodness from farm fields and sea, as crafted with by Inn at Hastings Park Chef Alissa Tsukakoshi and her team, and you’ve got an unmissable culinary event.
The Menu
The four-course dinner will get underway with Pan-Seared Scallops With Sage Butter, paired with a 2022 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay. Then’ll come a Joyberry Farm Mushroom Risotto backed up by a 2021 Chateau Montelena Cabernet.
The next course—Rib Eye With Pont Neuf Potatoes and Bernaise—will come accompanied by a side-by-side pairing of 2021 and 2011 vintages of Chateau Montelena’s Estate Cabernet, sure to be one of the evening’s truly special moments.
The delicious and delightful proceedings will conclude with Fig Pavlova and Noval Black Ruby Port.
