We’re happy to announce the return of one of our most beloved events here at the Inn at Hastings Park: our Día de los Muertos Tea!
This spirited happening coincides with that stretch of the calendar during which the multi-day celebration of Día de los Muertos—the Day of the Dead—is observed across Mexico and the U.S. And it’s that holiday—and the related one of All Hallow’s Eve/Halloween—which inspires our October tea party, which we hope you’ll be able to join!
Mark Your Calendar: The Día de los Muertos Tea at the Inn at Hastings Park’s on October 25th
Our Day of the Dead Tea will take place at our Inn restaurant, Town Meeting Bistro, on Saturday, October 25th, the weekend ahead of the main traditional observance of Día de los Muertos. We’ll have three seatings: at 10 AM, noon, and 2 PM.
What’s on the menu and the itinerary? Well, plenty! A lovely selection of J’enway Teas will share the spotlight with an absolute smorgasbord of Tea Tower bites, encompassing everything from Churros, Benelos con Azucar, Capirotada, and Mexican Chocolate Cupcakes to Chiles en Nogala, Shrimp al Pastor, and Jamon, Chipotle, & Avocado Sandwiches. The display will come decorated in colorful Day of the Dead-style, nodding to the importance of food and beverage to that festive and uplifting commemoration of the dearly departed.
An $85 adult ticket lands you the bounty of that Tea Tower and the J’enway tea service, plus a glass of Schramberg Mirabella Brut Rosé. (After all, nothing enhances a celebration like a bit of bubbly, right?) For $65, children 4 to 12 years old can enjoy tea or hot chocolate and those tasty bites along with trick-or-treating and cookie decorating and other holiday crafts. (And children 3 and under? Well, they can attend for free!)
And take note: We certainly strongly encourage the wearing of costumes for our Día de los Muertos Tea. Whether you’re directly honoring the dead or outfitting yourself as your favorite fictional character—or something else entirely—we invite you to unleash your creativity and garb yourself up for the occasion!
